Title: Testing in the Cloud – Deploy and debug an application deployment on OpenShift

The world quickly moving to cloud services these days. Your application deployments are now moving from Virtual machines to Containers and Pods. But how well do we understand this. We have terms like Docker and Kubernetes which actually help containerize your applications.   Containerization is now the backbone of big organizations like Amazon, Google etc which are need security, scalability and agility in their deployed applications.

As a tester in the Agile world and cloud environment, it is critical that we understand how do applications work in a cloud environment.  After we deploy the application, how do we confirm that it is fit to use for the user.

As part of this workshop we will be delving into understanding of OpenShift.   We will understand what are containers, pods  nodes and other important terms referring to Red Hat OpenShift.  We will talk about the structure and topology of an OpenShift cluster.   Once we are familiar with the topology, we will move ahead and deploy an OpenShift application and see how can we test the application.

We will also  see the failure scenarios and how to test and correct those.  We will now become the Agile tester who knows how to debug and get to the root of the issues.
